about
Hello visitor- if you are on this site, chances are that you either already know me, or you are about to know me. If you already know me, lol lmao. If you are about to know me, please trust that this brings me the greatest joy, and I will love talking to you. Here, I attempt to introduce myself. You can pretend not to have read this intro when we actually talk, if that suits you better. Some background about where I stand, in chronological order: in middle school, I spent lots of years doing competition math because I liked winning. Once I found that there exist types of joy that results from things other than winning, life became a lot more interesting. However, I still run partly, if not wholly, on the general force of validation. I recognize that this is probably unhealthy, so I'm working to see what I can do about it.In high school, I went to boarding school and was able to discover a love of creation. Also, I no longer had to live my life by a strict schedule prescribed to me—so, I made friends. A nerdy modification of this: I now enjoy dissecting my own actions in the context of my social environment, and assigning archetypes to places and people I'll never meet. I take joy in finding people's priorities, and even more joy in finding that people's priorities align with mine. What the hell am I gonna do in college???
poetry
I'm always writing something- No guarantees but I'll keep a few things here.I have a rather low-quality blog on Substack but I don't recommend you read it. It's mostly old work I'm not proud of.I'm doing a poetry mentorship this summer, courtesy of Sunhouse Lit, and I have the privilege of learning from Kaylee Young-eun Jeong, one of my favorite poets. So I'll be writing at least one poem a week.Links- A long-term collection I'm building

music
I hated cello for 10 years, but now I love it. I tend not to listen to cello pieces, though—I much prefer violin and piano while listening. Wieniawski 1 vlc is stuck in my head at the moment, as well as Rach 2 pc.I also love listening to old recordings and rare music. If you have any recommendations, do send them my way. Some performances:
- Dvorak, solo with orchestra
- Shostakovich Trio
- An old Lalo from when I was 10
